About Andrew Barlow
Born 1970, Harare, Zimbabwe.
Studied Fine Art at University of Stellenbosch, graduating in 1992 with a degree in Fine Arts (Painting).
Since 1992 to current have specialised in people and animal portraiture and illustration.
1994
Pencil, pen and wash illustrations for ‘Waders of Southern Africa’, Phil Hockey and Clare Douie, 1995, Struik Winchester.
1999-2000
Illustration of 5 plates for ‘The Roberts Birds of Southern Africa, 7th Edition’, Hockey, Dean and Ryan, John Voelcker Bird Book Fund.

Commissioned portraiture of Champion Racehorses and stallions. Notable commissions include Jet Master, Captain Al, Pocket Power, Jay Peg, Bunter Barlow , National Emblem and Trippi.

2003-2008
Commissioned portraiture of polo ponies, pony strings and polo teams in South Africa and England. Clients include Clifford Elphic, Lila Pearson, George and Clare Mountbatten, Marques and Marchioness of Milford haven, Victor Vargas and Tony Pidgley.

Commissioned portraits of racing silks, Clients include Mary Slack and Gaynor Rupert.
